Um, if women were seen as nothing, then men WEREN’T treating women right…
Fuckin’ patriarchy, mang.
That’s what I thought. Who, in all of Jane’s books, really treats women well all the time? Brandon maybe? Captain Wentworth? Even Bingley is guilty of being kinda thoughtless. In general in that era that class of women were just how men made heirs and got their households organized.
